TruGreen Frequently Asked Questions...

How many applications are in the full program?

Our program consists of 6 applications of a balanced fertilizer and weed control.

When do you spray?

We begin in April or May, weather permitting and continue through late November or Early December.  Each application is approximately 4-6 weeks apart.

Do I have to take all 6 applications?

We recommend the full program for the best results.  You are welcome to take less applications, but we do not guarantee the results.

How long before I can let my pets out on the lawn?

We recommend you stay off the lawn approximately 1 hour or until the application dries.

Are applications safe for children and pets?

There have been no reported instances of any health problems with children or pets due to our products, however there is a negligible risk.  We recommend that you keep children and pets off the lawn approximately 1 hour or until the application dries.

How long should I wait to water?

We recommend that you wait a minimum of 6 hours before watering.  The next day is a good time to water in the application.

How often should I water?

We recommend that you water 2-3 times per week, 30-45 minutes per area.  It is better to water less often for longer periods.  It is best to water in the early morning, before 10 a.m.

How long before I can mow?

We recommend that you water in the application before mowing.  However, if you must mow, please wait at least 24 hours and leave the clippings on the lawn and water the lawn afterwards.

How high should I set my mower?

Grass should be mowed frequently enough that no more than 1/3 of the grass blade is removed.  Bluegrass should be mowed at 2 Ĺ - 3 inches.

It rained right after my application, did it wash away?

The rain is a great benefit to the fertilizer.  The weed control needs approximately 2-4 hours to soak into the weeds to be effective.  If it rained sooner, please contact us to schedule a service call.

You sprayed my lawn a week ago and I still have weeds.  Why didnít the weeds die?

Each application will take care of 70-80% of weeds at time of service.  It can take 7-10 days to see weeds curl and start to die.  Some weeds continue to grow after an application if the weed control was not able to reach them at the time of the application.  We will take care of these weeds at the next visit or we may need to schedule a service call to take care of these weeds.

You sprayed my lawn this year & I did not request service.

Service is continuous from season to season, for your convenience.  The majority of our customers prefer it this way.  The continuous service message is printed at the bottom of each invoice.  We also send out 2 prepay letters each winter to remind you of the upcoming yearís services.  Continuous service from season to season ensures that you will remain on schedule for timely applications for the best benefit to your lawn.  It also keeps down our costs so we can pass the savings on to our customers!
